We prepare school students from 6th grade onwards for Maharashtra’s Elementary and Intermediate Drawing Grade Examinations — government-recognised certifications that open doors to India’s top art and design colleges.
The Elementary and Intermediate Drawing Grade Examinations are government-recognised examinations conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Art Education (MSBAE) under the Directorate of Arts, Government of Maharashtra. They are held once a year, typically in the last week of September.
These are formal, government-certified qualifications that carry real value in college admissions and career pathways. Students who clear these exams receive a government-issued certificate recognised across Maharashtra and several other states.
The Elementary Drawing Grade Exam is open to students in 6th standard and above. It tests foundational drawing skills across six subjects: Design, Memory Drawing, Still Life, Nature Drawing, Freehand Drawing and Geometry.
The Intermediate Drawing Grade Exam is open to students in 7th standard and above who have cleared the Elementary exam. It tests more developed skills across the same six subjects at a higher standard.
We cover all six subjects tested in both the Elementary and Intermediate exams with individual attention and regular practice in small batches.

No prior drawing experience is required — we build foundational skill from scratch over the year.
Many of our current NID, NATA and NIFT students started with us in the drawing grade program. By 11th grade they already had the foundation, the certificate and the confidence other students take months to build.
Students who complete Elementary and Intermediate Drawing Grade Exams with us are significantly better prepared for every design entrance exam they will face in 11th and 12th grade. The drawing skills, the design thinking, the memory drawing practice — all of it directly feeds into NID, NATA, NIFT, UCEED and MH-AAC-CET preparation.
Starting at Creative Rex in 6th or 7th standard is not just exam preparation. It is a 5 to 6 year creative education that compounds year on year.
The earlier you start, the stronger the foundation when it counts most.
Our drawing grade batches are kept intentionally small. School students need more individual attention than older students preparing for competitive exams. Our faculty is experienced in teaching younger students, not just coaching exam technique.
All six subjects across Elementary and Intermediate levels
Memory drawing, design and geometry for both levels
We are a registered exam centre for the Maharashtra State Board of Art Education. We handle everything — registration, hall tickets and exam coordination — so students and parents do not have to navigate the government process on their own.
“My son started in 6th grade with Creative Rex and now in 11th he is already preparing for NID. The drawing skills he built early are showing now in every aptitude paper.”
“They handle the entire MSBAE registration. We just dropped our daughter off for classes and they did the rest. Both Elementary and Intermediate cleared with distinction.”
The drawing grade certificate is one of the most underrated advantages a student heading into design or art can have. The earlier they start, the stronger their foundation when it counts most.
